Patricia Neufeld, LMFT Individual Psychotherapy

Welcome.

Over the course of our lives things happen to us that hurt us, bewilder us, and may us hold back from the flourishing life we desire for ourselves, from the relationships that give us value, the work that gives us meaning, and the interests that give us a sense of well-being.

Experiencing vitality, a sense of meaning, worthiness and belonging is core to a life well lived. But that doesn’t mean these things are automatic or come easily.

Seeking support through psychotherapy is an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how our experiences may have shaped who we are and in turn, how we interact with others, including those we love.

Through psychotherapy we will help you to develop the necessary skills to build more resilience to life’s pressures and stressors, to help you to live an authentic life where you experience more ease, wholeness and meaning.

Working with me.

It’s important that you find the right psychotherapist for your specific situation, and I would encourage you to read about my therapeutic approach, my specialization and my experience to see if you think I could be the right psychotherapist for you.

I work with a diverse clientele of adults who encompass a wide range of cultural backgrounds, ages, sexual orientations and professions.

I am based in Sacramento, CA and work both remotely by video-therapy and also in person at my office in midtown Sacramento. I work in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

For those interested in video-therapy, you can take part in therapy wherever you are in California, from the comfort of your own space.

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self…

FAQs

  • Psychotherapy sessions are unique to each individual and address their specific goals.

Together we will explore your current circumstances as well as your history.

We will explore the unconscious through dreams, thoughts and feelings.

As we sit together, we will explore your feelings, and your stories, and we will listen to your body, your dreams and longings.

I listen and honor the innate healing of your body and psyche (that which is deep within you) in a warm, curious and supportive presence.

Depending on your needs therapy can be short-term, for specific issues, or longer-term to deal with more patterns or to develop more fully as a person.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative relationship and can be a powerful catalyst for change and growth.

  • I accept Health Net insurance otherwise I do not accept insurance; however, I can provide a monthly invoice that you can turn into your insurance. Some plans may reimburse in part. Please check your coverage by asking the following questions:

    • Does my plan provide out-of-network reimbursement for mental health?

    • Is there a deductible I need to meet before I can be reimbursed?

    • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

    • What percentage of the fee do you cover?

  • Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapeutic treatment. It gives clients seeking services the knowledge and comfort that they can be completely honest with their clinician, without fear that the therapist will share what they said with outsiders. The major exceptions are if a client is a danger to self or others.

  • $200 per session

Limited sliding scale may be available

  • If you inform me at least 48 hours in advance of planned absences, you will not be charged for those sessions. Unless otherwise arranged, fees are due at the time of the session.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. The estimated costs are valid for 12 months from the date of the Good Faith Estimate.

This estimate will include service codes and any diagnostic codes that may have been determined.
